This is a glimpse of Arethusa Falls as seen while climbing up to the top of the falls. Arethusa Falls is the 2nd tallest falls in NH, At one time they were calculated to be 176 Ft tall. That height has been recalculated to 140 Ft. It is Bemis Brook that creates this cascade, located in Hart's Location, of Crawford Notch in the White Mountains of NH, off Rte 302. The falls can be reached by hiking 1.5 miles up a trail which consists of tree rooted steps and crossing some wooden bridges. It is a very steep and slippery climb to reach the top of the falls.
