Colosseum Falls

Colosseum Falls is named due to the wide layers of granite that resembles a coliseum. The river that carved this is Bemis Brook, the same river that tumbles down Arethusa Falls and cascades through Bemis Brook Falls. This Coliseum Falls sits below the Frankenstein Cliffs in Crawford Notch State Park of NH.

If you visit these falls and hike the trails in the area, you will notice the signs for this falls says Bemis Brook Falls, but that is an error. The signs for the Colosseum Falls and Bemis Falls were switched a long time ago.
