A Little About Me

Hi,

I am grateful for your visit and I am happy to help you with an image for your lifetime enjoyment. Reach out to me with any questions you have.

I was drawn to photography when I was young but lacked the patience of waiting until the film was developed, so my interests moved to more fast paced activities.  It was decades later I decided to start photographing again with the help of digital cameras which offered instant gratification.  My desire was to tour the world and capture wildlife in their natural surroundings.  While sitting still, waiting for the foxes, I observed the sunlit fog moving through the forest. I watched the rays of sunlight dance on the ferns while adding sparkles to the dew covered spider webs.  I refocused my camera and forgot about the foxes.  I missed the shot when they appeared and it became sadly clear that I lack the necessary patience for capturing wildlife.  Meanwhile my eyes had been opened to a whole new world of fascination with nature that constantly changes and keeps me moving.

My eye for detail and my passion for capturing grand panoramic landscapes, are what make my work stand out.  I am an early riser and love to watch the sunrise.  Scrambling boulders in the rain to capture the right texture of a waterfall is serenity to me.  Hiking down a mountain in the dark after sunset, beats trying not to swat at the bitiing flies while holding still to catch the Bear in the forest.

I strive to capture moments in nature that aren't seen everyday.  At least that is what I started out doing and my early work expressed the passion I have.  Years of creating a calendar that was different than most calendars, changed my focus on what scenes to explore.  Photographing well known places in New Hampshire became the primary goal.  They are wonderful places but the images sometimes were lacking some of the awe I admire in nature.  Therefore I have put the calendar on hold.

I am anxious to get back to the exploring I prefer and hopefully capture more magical moments to share with  you.

The photo below is me sitting across from Mt Washington.

My exploring companion named Keesha (aka Sunshine, she always made me smile). She went everywhere with me and experienced a few frightening spills on our travels, fortunately, she was a tough farm girl.  Most photos I have taken of her, she is looking away or tilting her head up, she didn't like being my subject. I caught this one of her before she realized. When I found myself carrying her up and down the mountains more than her walking them, I knew it was time to leave her at home. This was hard on us both. I miss her everyday.

My occasional companion is my husband, aka Sherpa.  This is him hiking up Mt Monroe on the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail, one of our easier hikes until the storm hit. We have lots of fun together, being a very competitive adds to the challenge of I can make that leap.  A few times bushwacking off trail in some rough places with leg breaking holes, enormous boulders, wasps nests, slick cliffs and taller than us dense Moose Maple while trekking to forgotton waterfalls had been less fun. We still always smile.  Unfortunately he has suffered a permanent injury and it has become too difficult to hike with me anymore.  It's just me now ....solo.

I am very glad you came for a visit.  I do wish you a wonderful night and please don't hesitate to ask me any questions.  If you like somthing but want a different option, I may have it for you.

Thank you and Be Well.
